Meanwhile in the spire, the kids woke up to a weird sight. It was no secret that in the land of deceit, there lasted an eternal night. Sometimes it rained, but usually it was pretty dark, with the black sky lighted up by shimmering stars.
Today was very different. The night succomed to the morning light of day. It was an unusual sight, making Candy Apple run around the main hall in either excitement or panic, nobody could tell. Meanwhile her brother sat on the couch wondering if it was his master mind, or was his power running out again.
His question would be answered after all, when a portal appeared in the middle of the hall.
The red girl kept running around now happily, until she noticed that someone except her master walked out the portal.
That FORSAKEN Healer! He looked around i awe, seemingly curious about his surroundings. She got no time to comment on his presence before the beast floated up and shouted ,,Kids! Gather up for a very important chat!" he yelled before looking down at the cookie of truth,, adding after a moment ,,You're not in trouble! ITS IMPORTANT THO!"
After he finished, his followers were standing straight in front of him.
,,I think we need more conformable place for this talk... soooo" he snapped his fingers, a door appearing on a nearby wall ,,Lets head inside shall we?"
After a moment they were sitting in a room with a coffee table in the middle, surrounded by two armchairs, and a sofa, all of them a blue color of course. The armchair where Shadow Milk sat was directly opposite to the sofa, with the other one kind of on the side. The kids sat on the sofa looking around nervously, with Candy Apple fidgeting with her dress.
Before Shadow Milk could begin the meeting, the little girl couldn't stand it an longer and asked with a squeal in her voice ,,What is HE doing here master?!"
The beast sighed and turned to Vanilla for him to begin.
,,Well... children, Shadow Milk here asked me for help with discussing a certain topic with you. Alright?" spoke softly the healer smiling lightly at the little bomber. She just gave an uncertain expression and slowly nodded.
,,That's great, so why don't we begin that you tell your master, how did you like living with him?" Began the conversation Pure Vanilla.
Black Sapphire looked at Shadow Milk across from him, who wore an unusually serious and kinda worried expression ,,We are of course very grateful to our master for taking us in, and helping us becoming the cookies we are today." e answered kind of formally.
,,Yeah! I love living with our master! He is the best and if you suggest otherwise you are stupider than you look!" Screamed the little sister.
Their master just faintly smiled at that, letting Vanilly continue. ,,Well, that's nice to hear. Shadow Milk told me about a certain time, when you called him ,,Dad" Candy Apple, could you please tell us why?" he just smiled.
That seemed to send the wrong message to the kids, making Black Sapphire immediately stand in his sisters defense. ,,She didn't now what she was talking about master! Please pay i no mind. I'm sure she will never again-" but he was interrupted by the beast standing up.
,,Candy Apple. I am not mad... could you just please explain to me this situation, i am just curious, ok?"
That calm tone was very unusually for the cookie of deceit, making his minion play with her dress and look down as she answered. ,,I... Its just that you take care of us... and read us stories... and seem to care about us very much... like a dad would..." she sad the last part a little quieter, but it still didn't escape the beasts attention.
The beast just sighed heavily, looking down at his hands. ,, Listen kids. I never had a parent, and never was one, so i don't know almost anything about parenthood. That is... maybe till now. I don't really... i just.... care about you both so much, and am extremely proud of the cookies you turned out to be, and i love having you in my life." he fidgeted with his fingers ,, So... what i'm trying to say is ummm.... if you WANT me as your dad... i will do everything in my power to be the best one i can!" He finished finally looking up...
...just to see his kids staring at him sit shock on their faces. After a bit of silence tho, Black Sapphire finally spoke up. ,,Are you... serious?" he asked kind of unsure, slowly standing up.
,,Of course i am!.... for once-" He got interrupted by Candy Apple, who jumped onto his lap, hugging up to him.
,,Black Sapphire you hear that?! My slip up gave us an official dad!" she smiled so widely that it looked like the smile would spill out of the limits of her face. Shadow Milk just smiled warmly before looking back at the radio host, opening his arms for him to join the hug. ,,Want to join us?"
The black cookie run up to them and joined the hug.
Vanilla sat quietly on his armchair, wiping happy tears that streamed down his face. What a nice sight.
After a while, the finally left the room, to head for breakfast. ,,Guess you can join us Vanilly, if you really wanna" and that playful smirk was back on his ace, of course!
The healer just smiled warmly ,,I will very much appreciate that, thank you Bluebird"
The beast just rolled his eyes, before smirking playfully again ,,Well ts the least i could do after your help.
They headed to the dining hall, talking about random stuff. Shadow Milk lead the way, throwing some dad-jokes, making his new companion giggle.
They passed a couple of portraits, none of which, if not for a ripped out face, could seem familiar to the healer, if only he payed attention to it. But apparently the beasts jokes.
