A chorus of footsteps echos through the hallway and the door to the library bursts open. Kaida, Yukiji and Aika run into the library, followed by Ichiro.
"Yamasaki-kun is d-dead?" Yukiji questions, eyes wide in horror.
"The body discovery announcement went off, and the rest of us are alive, so yes." Naomi huffs.
"Finally another murder! I was worried I'd have to execute all of you, that would be so boring." Monokuma says.
"Do you have the Monokuma File prepared?" Tatsuya asks.
"Of course!" Monokuma beams, showing them the file "Here you go!"
Ren opens the file and reads the information.
The victim is Yamasaki Ginjiro, the Ultimate Rugby Player.
The body was discovered in the library.
The estimated time of death is around 11.30 am.
There's a stab wound on her chest. His neck is broken and there's a crack in his skull as well.
The cause of death hasn't been stated in there. Weird.
The cat lady sinks to her knees "Horrible... Who w-would do such a th-thing?"
"I have a hunch. Look over there." Naomi points at a black stain on the floor. The stain is still wet, so it hasn't been there for too long "It looks like ink." She states while looking at Kaida.
The calligrapher looks shocked, there are still fresh tears building up in the corners of her eyes. Her voice is trembling with a hint of disbelief "Do you think I did it...?"
"Hey, bitch, don't go accusing people for no reason! Matsui-san is the sweetest person around, she wouldn't do this!" Maeko yells.
"Right now the evidence points towards her." Ichiro states.
"Why the fuck do you believe someone who's been avoiding us for the past days?! Have you lost your fucking mind?!"
"Haseyama-san, calm down." Ren tells her, looking up from his Monopad. He just took a photo of the ink.
"Calm down?! Are you okay with them accusing Matsui-san?!"
Ren sighs "Look, like I said before, I trust Kaida. But we're not going to convince the others with just our faith in her, we have to find evidence."
"Also, before you try. I'm not going to allow you to investigate with her." Naomi speaks up, already kneeling down next to the body "She'll just make sure you don't find the evidence you need."
"If that'll make you trust Ren, okay." Kaida looks at said boy "I'll investigate by myself. I'm counting on you."
"You're not going to investigate by yourself." Ichiro argues "You could be trying to dispose of evidence. I'm going to keep an eye on you."
Kaida sighs but nods "If that'll make you feel better, okay." She walks off with the power hockey star to investigate.
"Okay, let's prove those dumbasses wrong." Maeko says with fire in her eyes.
Ren nods "Let's do this."
"We were together around the time of death, so at least we have a fucking alibi."
"Right." Ren approaches Naomi, knowing that Maeko isn't going to do that "Endo-san, do you have any clue about the cause of death?"
"Well, the stab wound could be fatal if it was done right, but it didn't go through the rib cage, so it couldn't have punctured the organs." Naomi responds "And there's not enough blood for Yamasaki to die of blood loss. The only possibility I can think of is his broken neck. Maybe blunt force trauma from hitting his head, but he probably got the crack in his skull at the same time as a broken neck."
