The Dress

Dianne💋 I was discharged earlier on this afternoon, Tracey had text me to say she was coming back with Thea, I felt so washed out I didn't bother to tidy up I had a shower and was sat with Zoë watching gavin and Stacey.
Suddenly the doorbell went.
"Here goes"
Thea🧸 "MUMMY!!!"
Dianne💋 "hey princess I've missed you"
I picked up Thea and when I looked up I saw joe
"Hey I guess"
Joe🎮 "hey, I've come to get a small bag, I won't be long"
Dianne💋 "it's fine"
Thea was wriggling around so I put her on the floor. I felt her pulling at my hand and then I felt my hand next to joes
"Thea what are you doing"
Thea🧸 "I don't like it when your both sad"
Dianne💋 "dada isn't sad"
Thea🧸 "he is, dada do what you said"
Joe🎮 "not now thea, go and see auntie Zoë, please Thea
I'll be down in a minute mum"
I ran upstairs with tears running out of my eyes
I walked into our room and saw how it was still as we had left it. I didn't want to do this at all. I wanted to be with Dianne, I wanted to wake up with her next to me with her again, but the reality was very slim. I heard the door creek open
"I'll be down in a minute"
Dianne💋 "but I don't want to talk in front of everyone"
Joe🎮 "Dianne"
Dianne💋 "yeah, now what did you say to Thea"
Joe🎮 "it's nothing"
I locked eyes with Dianne
Dianne💋 I walked over to joe and wiped away his tears
"I may be your ex, but I don't like to see you upset, whatever I am, so apparently Thea knows that mummy and daddy aren't together"
Joe🎮 "why?"
Dianne💋 "one day mummy will meet someone who makes her happy all the time"
I said in a mimicked voice
"Joe I found that person! You! I don't know why you can't see that. Unless that's not what you want"
Joe🎮 "I know you think it's me I know you do but it's not Dianne, I can't make you happy"
Dianne💋 "what is it then, if you can make me happy, why are you leaving me, tell me I want to know. Is it because I couldn't carry your baby, is it because I've said something, have I done something wrong, did you ever love me"
Joe🎮 "none of them, and you know that I loved you"
Dianne💋 "key word in that sentence loved, I see"
Joe🎮 "no Dianne I love you, always have and always will!"
Dianne💋 "what is it then joe. Because normally when their girlfriend has just lost your baby and is feeling so shit she doesn't wake up to find that the most important thing in her life has gone! Joe look, I thought the most important thing was you and Thea, but it's not, the most important thing in my life is happiness which I can't be without having you and Thea by my side!"
I sat down on the bed with joe, he leant in to kiss me. I wanted to kiss him back so much but I shouldn't, he can't expect me to after all this.
"No joe you can't do this. You! ended it with me. You! ran away with our daughter then you!come back and kiss me. Stop playing around with my feelings, how can I trust you when you ended it hours ago, you ended it not me"
I got up and walked downstairs, what the hell had I done. He wouldn't want me back now, I could never ask him to take me back.
Zoë🎄 "you okay"
Dianne💋 "I think it's officially over"
Thea🧸 "muma did dada apologise like he said"
Tracey🧵 "Thea come and sit on nanny's lap"
Joe🎮 I looked through Diannes side of the wardrobe, and saw the red dress, I had a flash back of when I saw Dianne when she came back from Australia
I knew what I needed to do. I started to undress to put the dress on. I found the heals which were way too small.
"DI CAN YOU COME UP FOR A SECOND"
