Ellie🌝 Thea was sat on my lap leaning into me almost falling asleep. Joe had put down the bar and was leaning on the bed with his arm and Dianne was leaning back on his shoulder "zo whats the time?"
Zoë🎄 "not sure? Joe?"
Joe🎮 "it is.. Jeez it's almost 8, Thea are you tired?"
Thea🧸 "mhm, hungry"
Dianne💋 "I think dada should get you some dinner on the way home"
Joe🎮 "should he, why are you planning my evening"
Dianne💋 "beeeccaauuusseeeee I'm stuck in this crappy bed and can't do anything myself, good enough answer?"
Joe🎮 "anything's a good enough answer"
Zoë🎄 "come on Thea let's get you home"
Joe🎮 "girls can you just bring me up some joggers from the wardrobe I can come back to the house in the morning"
Ellie🌝 "yeah sure, I'll run them up"

Dianne💋 "no, I'm not having you sleep in that chair all night, please go home sleep and you can come and see me in the morning, please joe"
Ellie🌝 "we'll go and wait in the car joe, love you Dianne see you tomorrow"
Dianne💋 "byeeeee, night night princess sorry mummy can't tuck you in tonight"
Thea🧸 "bye bye mummy, I love you"
Dianne💋 "love you too"
Joe🎮 "how are you feeling?"
Dianne💋 "you know how I'm feeling, you've been sat with me all day"
Joe🎮 "I know but your obviously going to say your 'alright, tired, achey' infront of the girls aren't you, I'm not stupid"
Dianne💋 "joe I'm alright! I feel really sick but that's just a side effect, and I have a stomach ache but it's all normal, look I'm fine! It's fine"
Joe🎮 "okay, do you really want me to go?"
Dianne💋 "yes, I'm only thinking of what's best, I love you after all"
Joe🎮 "and you'll text me when your going to sleep?"
Dianne💋 "I'll even let you phone me from the bed and it will be like we're next to each other, pinky"
Joe🎮 "love you"
I gave Dianne a kiss and a hug then walked out to the car

Dianne💋 I sat in the bed and rubbed my face
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "you alright?"
Dianne💋 "oh yeah I'm fine, sorry that my daughter was on the ward"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "oh it's fine, she's adorable"
Dianne💋 "thank you, I just wish I could see her grow up"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "stop thinking negatively, you could still be here in 50 years time. Did you tell them?"
Dianne💋 "tell them what, oh yeah that their girlfriend, best friend, cousin and practically sister has been given roughly a month to live maybe even less, sorry I shouldn't take it out on you"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "trust me darlin, I've had worst, you rant to me"
Dianne💋 "how long do recon I've got"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "you know I can't say, but you have to ignore the time. Solum modo superesse aeternum est bene se poterit mome"
Dianne💋 "what does that mean?"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "The only way to survive eternity is to be able to appreciate each moment, live now! Right I have to go and check on some of the others I will be back at the end of my shift, night Dianne"
Dianne💋 "night"
I looked at my phone and saw a text from joe

{ignore the time and date}

I replied with 'good night I love you, see you in the morning xx'

I rolled over to fall asleep and my body wouldn't let me, I started playing the games I had on my phone for Thea, they were so boring yet kind of relaxing. I played the games for about an hour and then the nurse came back
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "hello, you asleep"
Dianne💋 "no, can't sleep, you off home?"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "yeah it's the end of my shift, just enough time to race home and tuck in my boy into bed, oh sorry I didn't mean it like that"
Dianne💋 "oh it's fine don't be silly, you go and see your little boy, how old is he"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "he's six going on 16"
Dianne💋 "haha Thea, my girl, she's 2"
Nurse👩🏿‍🦱 "aww my favourite age, I will see you in the morning Dianne"
Dianne💋 "byee"
I rolled back over and put my phone on the side. I thought I should try and get back to sleep.

Joe🎮 I was upstairs in bed and Zoë was putting thea to bed. I was scrolling through Instagram and then my camera roll finding old pictures of me and dianne. I rolled over and put my phone on the side. I thought I should try and get some sleep.

I tossed and turned for ages trying to get to sleep. I couldn't do it I got up and threw some joggers and a T-shirt. I grabbed my phone, keys and wallet ran into Zoe's room and saw Ellie and Zoë curled up watching something on tv.
"I'm going to the hospital"
Ellie🌝 "is everything alright?"
Joe🎮 "nope I've gone soft and can't survive the night without my girl"
Zoë🎄 "nawww, text us when your there"
Joe🎮 "will do"
With that I left and went straight from the house to the hospital then from the car to Diannes room.
I saw Dianne sleeping peacefully in the bed immediately putting my heart at rest. I moved the chair next to her bed and put down the bed guard down. Dianne's back was facing me and I leant on the bed, trying to fall asleep, just being in the same room was all I needed to be relaxed.

So I wrote the part when I said about Dianne having the miscarriage and I didn't think I anyone would actually care that much. I just want to say I know how hard it is to even comprehend a miscarriage but it is a reality and I know more than other ppl how heart breaking it is. This ff was never going to be all sunshine and rainbows so 🤷‍♀️ Also I should really be writing this one but I've kinda been obsessed with starting my other one 😂 I'll leave the @ in the comments}
